The Governor of our great state, Rod Blagojevich, was arrested this morning on federal corruption charges. Amongst the allegations: he attempted to sell Illinois' vacant Senate seat, he solicited bribes in pay-to-play political schemes, and he attempted to silence editorial criticism from the Chicago Tribune.
As US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald described the situation: "the breadth of corruption laid out in these charges is staggering"
ResignRod.com is a site dedicate to getting Rod Blagojevich out of office as soon as possible. We call on Rod Blagojevich to resign immediately, and given the allegations, that he resign WITHOUT filling the Senate Vacancy.
In the coming hours and days we will be organizing efforts to put pressure on Governor Blagojevich to resign. If he should not resign we will organize to put pressure on the Illinois General Assembly to begin the impeachment process.
